Two flavours

The American Singer has already carried out numerous different Porsche 911 restomods. The Dynamics & Lightweighting Study from 2018 was one of the most special and now there is a ‘turbo follow-up’.
Singer sometimes takes a fairly subtle approach to restomods, but the Dynamics & Lightweighting Study (DLS) from five years ago was of a more thorough nature. It was then a 911 of the 964 generation that technically underwent a complete modernization, got a 500 hp 4.0 boxer engine, including a carbon fiber lightweight body. Singer repeats that trick, but with the 911 Turbo of the same generation. The result is the DLS Turbo, which immediately appeared in two flavours.
The fiercest of the two is the ‘Blood Orange’ painted car. It has a well-developed body, because the customer wanted to go for the highest possible downforce. That should be fine with such a huge rear spoiler on it. Also special are the ‘hips’, which are considerably wider than normal. The more subtle ‘Moet Blanc’ painted other DLS Turbo also has it, but it has to do without the huge spoiler.
Porsche 911 Singer DLS Turbo.
The technical story, as befits a Singer DLS, has been taken care of from A to Z. The beating heart is a special biturbo 3.8 six-cylinder boxer engine developed by Singer that generates no less than 700 hp at 9,000 rpm. It sends its power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox, so you can imagine that it takes a lot of poking and steering to rein in the DLS Turbo. The optional track-tunable new suspension helps, as do bespoke dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (or Cup 2R) tyres. As usual, Singer doesn’t reveal prices; this is about expensive customization. In any case, two customers have already been found, who can now enjoy their orange or champagne-colored unique 911 Turbo.
