The Grossglockner is not only a fantastic mountain, but also a location where many a car manufacturer puts their packed test cars to the test. Techzle reader Pim de Jonge just ran into the Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV. Pim: our thanks are approaching the infinite!
Skoda itself recently released a set of photos of the Enyaq Coupé iV, a car you should really think of as what the yet-to-be-revealed ID5 to the Volkswagen ID4 is. Skoda even gives away what it is in the model name of the car: a coupé version of the Enyaq iV, a car with a more steeply sloping roofline than the original. Thanks to Techzle reader Pim de Jonge, we can now show you the Enyaq Coupé iV almost entirely without camouflage stickers, although the back of the car is still covered.
The real optical news unfortunately remains hidden for a while, although it is now clear what you should expect from the Enyaq Coupé iV. Up to the B-pillar it is an Enyaq iV, behind it the roofline slopes down to end in a flat rear window and a rear with modified taillights. The front bumper of this Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV is striking. Although it resembles that of the already known body style of the electric SUV for 99 percent, there is really a difference. For that you have to look at the front bumper. The bumper is almost completely that of the Sportline version, although this copy has an additional black hook-shaped elements and horizontal strips in body color. It is not inconceivable that the copy in these photos is the already announced 306 hp four-wheel drive RS version.
We already know that the Enyaq Coupé iV will be available with various electric powertrains. The basic version is the iV 60 with 58 kWh battery and 180 hp, a version that has to tolerate the iV 80 with 77 kWh battery and a 204 hp electric motor on the rear axle. That iV 80 is also available as an all-wheel drive 80X, a flavor that is 265 hp strong. Does the sloping roofline affect the luggage compartment? Certainly, the Enyaq Coupé iV with 570 liters can only carry a little less than the regular Enyaq iV (585 liters). The Enyaq Coupév iV will be available at dealers early next year.
