On holiday with the Roadiaq
Going on holiday with an electric car is already well established, but in Mláda Boleslav people think that it can all go a step further. There, students from the Skoda Academy have transformed a Skoda Enyaq into a camper. The creation listens to the name Skoda Roadiaq.
Skoda recently showed that the students of its Skoda Academy were busy working on an Enyaq. Now we see the result: the Skoda Roadiaq. The 29 handy geniuses sawed part of the roof out of the Enyaq and placed a superstructure on it to create a substantial living space. Not the most elegant solution, but it does provide a cozy scene in the electric SUV.
Behind the two front seats you will now find a living area that seems to come straight out of an existing camper. On the left in the 35 cm raised Enyaq is a sofa that can be transformed into a single bed, on the right you will find a spacious cupboard, the top of which is intended as a desk to work on. Ideal for home workers who occasionally want to work elsewhere, although the screen that is hung in it is perhaps a bit on the large side to use as a computer screen. At the top of the superstructure are a few small storage compartments and it has a skylight. There are also three sockets, which are powered by a regular camping plug that you plug into the side of the Roadiaq.
But where should you cook, you probably wonder. Well, the academics have come up with something for that too; you do that outside the car. The Roadiaq has several attachment points for a custom-made awning and you can also add an awning. This way you can still warm up your frankfurters (somewhat) covered. The cooking equipment, a mobile shower, a 12 V coffee maker and a survival kit are normally all stored in drawers under the sofa. You don’t have to worry about draining the car’s battery; in addition to the camping plug connection, the Roadiaq also includes a decent solar panel, which you can unfold somewhere next to the car in a place where you get the most sunlight.
As you probably saw it coming, it stays with this one copy. For the students, the nine-month project is now over and it is time for the summer holidays. We are curious if the Roadiaq will show up somewhere on a Czech campsite this summer. The Roadiaq is the ninth creation of Skoda Academy students. Previously, students came with the Citijet, the Funstar, the Atero, the Element, the Sunroq, the Mountiaq, the Slavia and the Afriq.
