Skoda Octavia RS iV not for the Netherlands

Bad news for fans of sporty Skodas. The Octavia RS iV unfortunately passes our noses. Skoda also removes the 1.5 TSI from the order list.

The Skoda Octavia RS is a rarity in the Netherlands. The very fact that the new Octavia RS is a plug-in hybrid seemed to increase the chance that you will encounter it here. Unfortunately, that kite does not work, because Techzle has heard that the new Octavia RS iV is not coming to the Netherlands. Skoda Netherlands confirms this. A reason is not given, but we can imagine that, despite the partly electric drive, there is still a fairly limited market for the 245 hp and 400 Nm strong Czech. Earlier it was announced that the Octavia Scout, which also operates quite well in a niche market, is passing our noses.

Furthermore, Techzle can exclusively report that Skoda will also delete the 1.5 TSI always linked to a manual six-speed gearbox from the order list. That powertrain served in the First Edition of the Octavia, but does not return in regular versions. Probably a factor in that choice is that in the long run there will be a mild-hybrid variant of the 1.5 TSI. Furthermore, after the First Edition the Octavia received the plug-in hybrid 1.4 iV and mild-hybrid 1.0 TSI eTEC already on the order list. They are both only available with DSG automatic transmission. Who still wants a 1.5 TSI in his Octavia, can sign for the natural gas-loving G-Tec or wait for the mild hybrid.
