Let autumn come

Skoda is working on redemption for its two largest models; the Superb and the Kodiaq. Those two were put to the test by the Czechs in the cold of the far north and that has been recorded – luckily for us.
The teaser bear is loose. At the end of April, Skoda shared a few more sketches of the new Superb and Kodiaq, but now it’s time for the real work. We see the new Skodas Superb and Kodiaq – albeit still tightly wrapped (not because of the cold) – around the Arctic Circle during cold tests. “The engine must start without problems at temperatures of -30 degrees. You must be able to open all doors, the hood and the tailgate, as well as the fuel cap and the charging socket cover on PHEV vehicles, even under such adverse conditions,” says Skoda.
There will probably not have been any major surprises, because the new Superb and Kodiaq are not really radically different from the current ones on any front. They are again based on a model of the modular MQB platform, have at most a plug-in hybrid drive in the electrical field and Skoda is clearly going for a repeat recipe with the appearance. But especially with the Superb there seems to be some length. You can bet that it will be a nice pack mule again, as you can expect from the Superb. Another liftback is coming. Next fall is the unveiling of both new models.
