Back to basic
The starting price of the Skoda Scala drops considerably. The practical Czech owes this to the return of a basic version that disappeared at the beginning of this year: the Active with 95 hp 1.0 TSI.
In January, Skoda cut the entry-level model of the Scala with 95-hp 1.0 TSI from the delivery range. That Scala was only available as Active. After the disappearance of this modest variant, the Scala with 110 hp 1.0 TSI performed as a richer equipped Ambition as an entry-level model. It has a starting price of €25,690. The 1.0 TSI with 95 hp now returns to the Scala, with the result that the starting price drops by €1,900.
Skoda asks for €23,790 for the returned Scala 1.0 TSI with 95 hp, performed as Active. It is only available with a five-speed manual transmission and is therefore not available in combination with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. Whoever pokes through, should be able to drive to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds. Its top speed is 194 km/h. As mentioned, the entry-level Scala is designed as Active. At Skoda, Active does not stand for black plastic wheel arch edges and other cross-like finery, but for modest standard equipment. The Skoda Scala 1.0 TSI Active has 16-inch steel wheels with ‘Tecton’ hubcaps, Bluetooth preparation, Smartlink, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and the simple Swing radio with 6.5-inch touchscreen and four speakers. Air conditioning is also standard.
