Skoda Vision Gran Turismo

Skoda opens the virtual bag of tricks and, unhindered by any sense of reality, pumps a digital nose full of imaginary horsepower. The Czechs are also venturing into a so-called Vision Gran Turismo study model.

With its 340 hp, the Skoda Enyaq iV RS is the strongest production car that Skoda ever made. Despite the fact that the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo has almost 1,100, nothing changes in the status of the Enyaq iV RS. The Visino Gran Turisomo exists purely in virtual form. Skoda joins the growing list of car manufacturers that have signed a car for the racing game Gran Turismo.

According to the Czechs, the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo is a futuristic interpretation of the Skoda 1100 OHC Spider from 1957, Skoda’s entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the time. Where that open classic had a 92 hp 1.1 four-cylinder, the Visino Gran Turismo has four virtual electric motors, each producing 272 hp. The system power: 1,087 hp and 1,020 Nm. Skoda imagines the car with a chassis made of carbon fiber and a body made of the same material. It even dares to speak of optimal weight distribution, partly because the 87 kWh battery that Skoda has coded into the digital device is located in the bottom. Active aerodynamics, a steering wheel like that of a spaceship, suspension with push rods: Skoda has thought of it all. The Czechs have even given a weight for the 95 centimeter low and 4.41 meter long – but much smaller on your screen – crack nose: 1,300 kilos.

Completely irrelevant? Of course, but it might be fun to show what Skoda comes up with if it doesn’t have to adhere to virtually any rules and is therefore not limited by anything.
