Skoda warms up before coming to Enyaq

Skoda will most likely launch the Enyaq this year, a fully electric SUV where the Czechs have shown a teaser plate.

Earlier this year Skoda announced the name of its first model developed as an electric car: Enyaq. You should see the Enyaq as Skoda’s variant of the Volkswagen ID.4 in the pipeline. Indeed, an SUV. Skoda has hidden an image of Enyaq in a video in which it presents the new Octavia RS iV to the world. That immediately makes a big difference with the Skoda Vision iV, the concept car presented in Geneva last year that looked ahead to an electric SUV-like from Skoda.

Where the Vision iV was a so-called ‘coupé-SUV’, the Enyaq becomes the more conventional-lined variant, so one with a roof line that extends further backwards. The Enyaq is on the MEB platform, just like the ID.3 and soon the ID.4 and many other EVs of the Volkswagen Group. That modular base makes the Enyaq in the base rear-wheel-driven, although four-wheel-driven flavors are also becoming available. The engine list of the Volkswagen ID.3 of course already gives a good idea of what the Enyaq could power. This Skoda could therefore just become available with 150 and 204 hp on the rear wheels. More later this year!
