Skoda has a new compact crossover in the development rooms that goes by the name Kushaq. Skoda has already sketched the exterior of the Kushaq, and today the brand is releasing digital drawings of the interior of the new crossover.
Later this month, Skoda is pulling the curtain off the Kushaq, a brand new compact crossover that’s pretty important to the lake. It is not coming to Europe, the Kushaq must initially win over the crossover customer in India but later also in markets outside it. The car is therefore on a cheaper and specially adapted for growth markets version of the MQB-A0 platform that we know from cars such as the Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Kamiq. The Kushaq seems to be a relatively tough appearance on the outside and gets an interior that seems to match perfectly with it.
The Kushaq gets a dashboard whose middle part more or less matches that of, for example, the Kamiq. Here too, therefore, an infotainment screen, up to 10-inch in size, with two horizontal ventilation grilles underneath. The ventilation grilles that sit all the way on the corners of the dashboard are, just like with Skodas like the Karoq and Kodiaq, vertically oriented copies.
The Kushaq is the production version of the Vision In Concept that debuted at the Auto Expo in New Delhi last year. The Kushaq will be about 4.25 meters long and will have a wheelbase of 2.65 meters. The engine list will include 1.0 and 1.5 TSIs. The 1.5 will in any case also be available with a DSG7 automatic transmission if desired. As mentioned, the Kushaq will not come to the Netherlands, not even at a later stage.
