Snapchat Cameos: This is how you make the best gifs with yourself in the lead

Snapchat introduces a nice new feature with Snapchat Cameos. With a Cameo you put a selfie of yourself and your friends in all kinds of scenes, which then come to life as gif. That is how it works!

This is how you set up Snapchat Cameos

The update offers a new personal dimension. In addition to your drawn version as Bitmoji, you can now also see your face in all kinds of funny GIFs. Curious how it works? Update the app and follow the steps below:

Snapchat Cameos
  1. Open a chat in Snapchat where you want to send the Cameo;
  2. Tap the face next to the text field;
  3. Then tap the icon with two faces (next to Bitmoji);
  4. You will now see all kinds of scenes. Tap any scene to add your selfie;
  5. Place your face in the frame and take a selfie. Try not to laugh, because that’s when the gifs work best;
  6. Tap continue. You will now see your selfie in the different scenes;

Adjust selfie

At the bottom you choose different genres as you are used to from Bitmoji. For example, you choose love, anger or party. Not satisfied with your selfie? Then you can easily adjust it. To do this, tap on any scene and tap on the three dots at the bottom left under which it says ‘more’. Then tap ‘new selfie’ to take a new photo. Under ‘more’ you can also choose ‘view full screen’ to see the scenes on the entire screen.

Export cameo

Also nice: you can easily export the Snapchat Cameos and share them as gif on another app, such as on WhatsApp. To do that, tap a nice Cameo in a chat and tap ‘export’ next to ‘more’ at the bottom. Then choose the app where you want to share the gif.
