Sonos has announced two new speakers with the Era 100 and Era 300. These are equipped with a USB-C connection and with the handy Sonos combo adapter you can easily connect the Era speakers to your router and an audio source with a 3.5mm input, such as a record player.

We previously wrote that Sonos is coming with the new smart speakers Era 300 and Era 100. The Sonos Era 300 has beautiful spatial audio, while the Sonos Era 100 is the successor to the Sonos One. Both have improved Trueplay technology and remarkable connectivity options. With regard to the latter: the Era 300 and Era 100 both also have a USB-C connection at the back. Sonos gave a striking reason for this.

Sonos Combo Adapter
Research by Sonos showed that many people would like to connect a record player directly to a Sonos speaker. That is currently not possible with the Sonos One, but it is possible, for example, via the Sonos Amp. To meet these wishes, Sonos comes with a special combo adapter. This has a USB-C plug on one side and a network port on the other to physically connect the Era 100 or 300 to the internet and there is also a 3.5mm input for an audio source. You can therefore connect a record player to the latter. The length is 20 centimeters and it weighs 18 grams. Incidentally, an Aux cable and Ethernet cable are not included, but you probably still have them somewhere.

Price and availability
The suggested retail price of the Sonos combo adapter is € 45.00 and it can already be ordered now, but only available at the end of March.
