Spotify has a new feature that allows you to create playlists with an AI. But the feature is not yet available to everyone.
Spotify has AI playlists
Currently, the feature is only available in the beta of the Spotify app. England and Australia will be the first countries where the new function becomes available. It is not yet known when Spotify’s AI playlists will come to the Netherlands and Belgium. Spotify itself indicates that it will slowly expand the function to other countries.
With the new feature you can easily create new playlists using AI. According to Spotify, this lets you create playlists with a description like “create a playlist that makes me feel like the main character” or “give me relaxing music to help me during allergy season.”
You can then further customize the generated playlist to your liking. For example, you can indicate that you want to see ‘more pop music’ in the list.
You can go all out to create the prompt for the AI playlists. You can use things like place names, animals, activities, movie characters, colors and even emojis.
It’s a shame that the feature isn’t available here yet. But Spotify may decide to add the AI playlists here too at any time. When they do, you can find the position in the following way.
- Open the Spotify app and click on your Library at the bottom;
- Click on the plus sign at the top right;
- The option will then appear under ‘Playlist’ and ‘Blend’.
Like the playlists the AI created? Then you can save the playlist in Spotify.
