The Greek Spyros Panopoulos has officially drawn the curtain on Chaos, an almost unearthly extremist described by its creators as a ultracar. A strange term, but since the car is more than 3,000 hp strong, not entirely unjustified.
In March 2020, the Greek company Spyros Panopoulos announced the arrival of the Chaos, an extreme hypercar that AutoWeek could show you from all angles in September. It is that Chaos that has now been officially introduced to the light of day.
The Chaos is described by Spyros Panopoulos as a ultracar that accelerates faster than a Formula 1 car and “[…] any other motorized vehicle ever.” That Spyros Panopoulos is not exactly modest is apparent from the further descriptions of the car. For example, the Chaos has the best aerodynamics ever and it is built with ‘technology of the future’.
The Spyros Panopoulos Chaos is in any case a heavily designed with a front wing that seems to be a combination of that of an F1 car and a portion of spaghetti. The 5.05 meter long and 1.12 meter low Chaos comes in two flavors: the Earth Version and the Zero Gravity. Both variants have a double blown 4.0 V10. The Earth Version is 2,049 hp and 1,389 Nm strong and weighs 1,388 kilos. In that form, the Chaos should be able to reach a top speed of more than 500 km/h. On paper. The Chaos Earth Version should be able to sprint to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds and those who have patience for a total of 7.9 seconds should have the 300 km/h on the clock.
The Chaos ‘Zero Gravity’ is possibly even more insane. According to the Greek company, this variant has 3,065 hp and 1,984 Nm thanks to, among other things, larger turbos. With that unearthly power, the thing should be able to reach 100 km/h in 1.55 seconds. The 300 km/h is on the clock in 7.1 seconds and those who want to accelerate from 100 km/h to 200 km/h only need 1.7 seconds. According to Spyros Panopoulos, the monocoque is made from a combination of ‘organic fibres, steel and carbon fibre’. The ultimate material, according to the Greeks. The body is largely made of titanium, magnesium, Kevlar and carbon fiber.
The fierce-looking colossus has a futuristic-looking cockpit complete with a strikingly designed steering wheel with a display on which you can read things such as the rpm and speed. Spyros Panopoulos speaks of the presence of augmented reality. Spyros Panopoulos does not release a starting price. However, the company says it will only build 20 copies.
More Spyros Panopoulos
Spyros Panopoulos doesn’t stop at the Chaos. The company is pulling three other newcomers from the top hat. The first is the Cubicle, an electrically powered two-seater that is diametrically opposed to the Chaos. The Cubicle is a block box that is mainly intended for the city, although this newcomer is also remarkably powerful. It has a 260 hp and 310 Nm strong electric motor and should be able to sprint to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. Its range is between 280 and 308 kilometers.
The fact that Spyros Panopoulos likes diversity is evident from the fact that the company’s third newcomer has a completely different powertrain. The Zion is a sleek five-seater with a fuel cell. Depending on the version chosen, the Zion is 680 hp to – yes – 1,750 hp strong. The 680 hp variant should be able to reach 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a target top speed of 250 km/h. According to Spyros Panopoulos, the 1,750 hp powerful 5-meter Zion must be able to launch itself to 100 km/h in 1.8 seconds and must continue to 350 km/h. The range is 780 or 1,350 kilometers.
Future music or not, Spyros Panopoulos cannot be denied any kind of enthusiasm.
