SsangYong gives the Musso a facelift. The pick-up based on the previously renewed Rexton gets a pretty pronounced snout and is also undergoing technical work.
SsangYong subjected its largest SUV to a facelift at the end of 2019 and now the brand is also renewing its pick-up brother, the Rexton Sports, which operates as Musso in the Netherlands. The Rexton Sports Khan in the photos is the longer version of the Musso, a 5.4 meter long car that is referred to in our country by the model name Grand Musso. The Musso is approached in a similar way to the Rexton, but there are some interesting differences.

Just like the renewed version of the Rexton, the modernized Musso also gets a much larger grille. Where the grille on the Rexton is made up of a colorful collection of chrome dots, the Musso has horizontal louvers. In addition, the grille of the Musso continues downwards. On either side of the front bumper are vertical light units that house the daytime running lights. This means that the Musso takes more distance from its SUV brother in terms of design. More external innovations come in the form of plastic decoration around the wheel arches and a tailgate in which the rear lights are now connected by a plastic strip. On it you can read ‘Sports’ in cow letters.
Remarkably, the Musso does not benefit from the renewed 2.2 turbo diesel. The Musso has – at least in South Korea – just the 187 hp and 400 Nm (420 Nm in the longer Khan) strong diesel power plant that was previously available in the pick-up. The new eight-speed automatic transmission is also reserved for the Rexton, the Musso retains its Aisin machine with six speeds. Information about the European version of the renewed Rexton Sports will undoubtedly follow later this year.
