The Opel Insignia has been prepared for a new round and it is now also known what the facelifted Opel should cost at least. The brand thereby announces what the new engine range is and opens the order books.
At the end of last year, Opel presented the facelifted Insignia. Major differences with the pre-facelift may not immediately catch the eye, but thanks to new headlights, a wider grille, slightly modified front and rear bumpers, the Insignia looks nice and fresh again. Opel also confirms a revised engine range, as we were able to report in part earlier, and there will be a GSi version again.
The Insignia is now available as petrol with a 1.4 turbo three-cylinder and a blown 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The entry-level 1.4, delivers 145 horsepower and 236 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. This block replaces the almost equally strong 1.5 that was previously available in the Insignia. From € 36,699, the Insignia is available as a Grand Sport with the 1.4. By default, the car features such things as Climate Control, a 7-inch screen for the infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors and assistance systems such as Automatic City Emergency Braking and Lane Assist.
Above the 1.4 with 145 hp, the 200 hp and 350 Nm strong new 2.0 immediately comes on the engine list. That power source is linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which means that the old six-speed automatic transmission will be canceled. The top version with that engine is of course the more sporty driving GSi, which gets 230 hp from that block, also with the nine-speed automatic. Diesel enthusiasts also have a choice of two engines. The 1.5 with 122 hp and a six-speed manual gearbox, or the 174 hp 2.0. The latter is available with the same six-speed gearbox, but also comes with an eight-speed automatic. Extensive prices will undoubtedly follow soon.
