Stellantis will collaborate with the Taiwanese tech company Foxconn. The two companies are entering into a ‘strategic partnership’, details of which they will reveal on Tuesday.
Stellantis, the parent company of car brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Fiat and Alfa Romeo, is joining forces with Foxconn. It is not yet known exactly what the collaboration will mean. The parties will release more about this on Tuesday. However, the Taiwanese have previously indicated that they have ambitions for the automotive sector, especially in the field of electric models. It probably has something to do with that. Foxconn is now mainly known as an electronics assembly company and is best known as an Apple partner. It has been building millions of iPhones per year for the American tech company for years.
For Foxconn, the collaboration with Stellantis is not the first with a car company, but the first with an established name in the automotive world. Earlier this year, the Taiwanese company already signed a deal with the American Fisker to develop a car together. Foxconn is also frequently mentioned as a possible partner for Apple in the development and construction of an Apple Car.
