Stellantis (FCA-PSA) announces board

The merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Groupe PSA, called Stellantis, is taking shape. It is now announced what the top of the new group will look like.

At the end of last year it was announced that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Groupe PSA will actually merge into one large concern. This makes it the fourth automaker in the world in one fell swoop. The group, christened Stellantis, will receive the brands Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel / Vauxhall, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo under its wings. It was previously announced that the current CEO of PSA, Carlos Tavares, will also become the CEO of Stellantis. Now Stellantis explains more about the organization.

At the very top we find John Elkann (FCA) as chairman of the board. Robert Peugeot (PSA) sits next to him as vice-chairman. Both Elkann and Peugeot are heirs to the families that founded the brands that started it all; Fiat and Peugeot. They are also currently the chairmen of the groups that still operate separately. French businessman Henri de Castries, now chairman of the American investment group General Atlantic, will become an independent director. In addition to the central management, a whole series of non-executive directors are also appointed. We also meet Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, just like Elkann heir to Fiat founder Giovanni Agnelli. Andrea is his grandson and he is the son of former Fiat CEO Umberto Agnelli.

Further non-executive directors are Fiona Clare Cicconi (Italian, AstraZeneca), Nicolas Dufourq (French, Bpifrance), Ann Frances Godbehere (Canadian, Shell), Wan Ling Martello (Filipino, Nestlé and Wallmine), Jacques de Saint-Exupéry (French , PSA) and Kevin Scott (American, Microsoft). All these people will only really get to work once the merger is complete. Stellantis reports that it is still aiming for ‘the end of the first quarter of 2021’ for this.
