In the air

Stellantis is of course the parent company of car brands such as Citroën, Peugeot, DS, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. But the company is also interested in things other than cars. It will also produce electric aircraft.
Stellantis has been working with Archer since 2020, a manufacturer of so-called Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) machines. Stellantis and Archer will set up a factory in the US state of Georgia where the Archer Midnight should be built in 2024.
The Archer Midnight is an electric colossus with tilting rotors that can accommodate four occupants. The Midnight doesn’t get very far, by the way. After about 160 kilometers of flying, the flying fun is over. The Midnight is especially suitable for short trips of about 30 kilometers so that only short charging is required in between, says Archer.
Stellantis is pumping an additional $140 million into Archer across this year and next. In addition, Stellantis wants to increase its share in the coming period.
