A small entrepreneur who wants to purchase an electric delivery van can receive more subsidy next year than seemed to be the case until now. This was announced by the State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management.
Anyone who wants to receive financial support when buying a new electric delivery van is eligible for a 10% subsidy of the purchase price for a new price of €20,000 or more, up to a maximum of €5,000 per vehicle. This has now been laid down in the so-called Subsidy Scheme for Emissionless Commercial Vehicles (SEBA). A motion by VVD MP Erik Ziengs called for a possible extension of this for small entrepreneurs. The outgoing State Secretary Steven van Weyenberg (I&W) is responding to this.
In concrete terms, this means that the subsidy percentage on the purchase price will increase from 10 to 12 percent. Van Weyenberg states in a letter: “By making maximum use of the European state aid frameworks, the subsidy percentage for this group of entrepreneurs can be increased from 10 percent to 12 percent.” Van Weyenberg illustrates the advantage this provides in practice: “This means that when purchasing an electric delivery van worth €40,000 excluding VAT, a small company will receive an additional €800. The design of this measure was also discussed with MKB Nederland.”
