More than half of the subsidy pot that is available this year for the purchase of a new or used electric car is empty. Of the €91.4 million that was available for this year, more than €52 million has now been allocated.

Anyone in the market for a new or used electric car with a list price of a maximum of €45,000 can also apply for the Electric Passenger Cars Private Individuals Subsidy (SEPP) this year. The subsidy pot was filled this year with an amount of €91.4 million, of which €52,187,900 has now been allocated. This means that 57.1 percent of the available subsidy has been requested and €32,212,100 (42.9 percent) is still available.

Of the €91.4 million available this year, €71 million was reserved for subsidy for the purchase of a new electric car. Of that €71 million, 60.2 percent has been paid; in total this concerns €42,725,900. There is still €28,274,100 (39.8 percent) available.

You can receive a financial compensation of €3,350 on the purchase of a new electric car with a catalog value of up to €45,000. This means that SEPP subsidy has been applied for for 12,754 new electric cars and a budget is still available for 8,440 new EVs.

You can also apply for an allowance for the purchase of a used electric car with an original catalog value of €45,000. At €2,000, this is somewhat lower than the subsidy that you can receive on the purchase of a new one. Of the €20.4 million available this year for the purchase of a used electric car, €9,462,000 has been allocated, i.e. 46.4 percent and not even half. This means that SEPP subsidy has been applied for for 4,731 used EVs and there is still budget left for 5,459 electric used cars.

Of course it is not possible to apply for a subsidy for every new or used electric car. Here you can read everything about the conditions and how to apply for a Subsidy for Electric Passenger Cars (SEPP) for a new or used electric passenger car.
