Successful since day one: Citroën C3

Celebration in 2022, the popular Citroën C3 celebrates its twentieth anniversary. Immediately after its introduction, it appears that Citroën has a success number in the b-segment with this model. A compact, spacious and practical hatchback, but as comfortable, quirky and thoughtful as only a Citroën can be.

First C3: Nod to the 2CV

At the beginning of 2002 Citroën caused a sensation with the first C3. The mischievous round roofline, the slightly convex bonnet and the third side window are a nod to the legendary Citroën 2CV, better known as the Duck. The driving comfort is sublime and that makes the C3 the most comfortable car in its class. Thanks to the round shapes, the interior is spacious, as is the luggage compartment. You can still see that first C3 driving, which says a lot about the quality of this Citroën.

Nice ducks in the bite: the C3 Pluriel and the C3 X-TR

Shortly after the birth of the four-door Citroën C3, the C3 Pluriel made its debut at the end of 2002. Its versatility is already in the name. You can remove the complete roof in an instant and then there is suddenly a cheerful four-seater convertible. But it is also a three-door hatchback with a panoramic roof. At least as nice is the tough Citroën C3 XT-R, which looks like a compact SUV with its grille, bumpers and thick fender edges in black plastic and the handy roof rails on the roof.

We are now at the third generation and with the unique Citroën Take & Go stock promotion with an extra discount on a stock model or Take & Go Private Lease you can step into a new Citroën C3 almost immediately!

Panoramic windscreen for the second generation C3

At the end of 2009 Citroën pulls the curtain on the second generation C3. Still recognizable as C3, but modern and progressive in every way. Slightly larger and therefore more spacious than its predecessor and with a panoramic windscreen as a striking option. That window extends far into the roof and offers the occupants a great view. Furthermore, the emphasis is on even cleaner technology, which leads to an ultra-efficient diesel with only 99 grams of emissions, which is unique in 2010.

C3 number 3, with a pinch of Cactus

It is 2016 and the Citroën C3 has already been sold more than 3.6 million times. In that year Citroën comes with the third C3. It clearly follows the new design language, which can already be seen in the sensational C4 Cactus at that time. Of course it is as idiosyncratic as a Citroën should be, with its characteristic front and the robust ‘fenders’ on the sides. The customer can choose from three different colors for the roof and many paint colours. The C3 also uses the Citroën Advanced Comfort program and that means driving on clouds!

Compact MPV: the Citroën C3 Picasso and the C3 Aircross

The popularity of the MPV is reflected early on at Citroën in the Xsara Picasso. In the more compact segment, the C3 Picasso will be added in 2009 and the SUV C3 Aircross will take over in 2017. It will receive a small rejuvenation treatment in 2021 and is still a popular model in its segment.
