Suzuki surprised friend and foe by coming up with its own version of the Toyota RAV4: the Suzuki Across. The delivery of that hybrid SUV will start at the end of this month, but for that it must of course have a Dutch asking price. Suzuki is now announcing it.
Suzuki is asking € 65,000 for the Across. That seems a lot more than Toyota asks for the RAV4. After all, that car is already available from € 39,495. However, that amount is for the conventional petrol version and although the RAV4 is also available as a € 44,795 2.5 Hybrid, Suzuki only supplies the Across as a plug-in hybrid. The same powertrain has also been announced for the Toyota, but has not yet received a price tag.
Under the hood of the Across, the 2.5-liter 185 hp petrol engine works together with a 40 kW electric motor. The system power comes to a hefty total of 306 hp. Only electrically, the Across must be able to reach 75 kilometers. The maximum towing weight is 1,500 kg. The standard equipment seems quite complete. It is equipped with LED lighting, seat heating on both rows of seats, 19-inch alloy wheels and a 9-inch touch screen for multimedia with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A whole range of safety systems are also available, such as Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA).
The order books are open immediately. The Dutch importer expects to deliver the first copies at the end of this month.
