To Europe or not?

More electric Suzuki pleasure comes today in the form of the Suzuki eWX. The Suzuki eWX is a preview of a station wagon that is as compact as it is electric. At least, that’s how Suzuki himself describes him.
When Suzuki released the broad outlines of what it would be bringing to the Japan Mobility Show now underway in early October, it also showed first photos of a bunch of other new show cars in addition to a photo of the Suzuki Swift Concept. This included the eVX Concept, but also the eWX Concept. That Suzuki eWX is a cheerful rascal, about which we can now tell you more. The question remains, however, whether he will ever get European asphalt under his wheels.
A small, angular electric Suzuki is also coming to Europe.
Among the five new electric models that Suzuki announced for the European market at the beginning of this year, there was a small block box, the shape of which was somewhat reminiscent of the Wagon R+ that was once delivered in the Netherlands. The Suzuki eWX Concept that plays the leading role in this article is also such a small and angular space giant. Among other things, the light signature of the eWX does not match what we previously saw from the small Suzuki announced for Europe. Anyone who gets warm feelings from handy micro-MPVs can only hope that the production version of the eWX will come our way.
Suzuki
The Suzuki eWX Concept is 3.4 meters long at 5 mm. Anyone who reads about a Japanese car with a length of just under 3.4 meters most likely has a kei car in front of them. The Suzuki eWX’s dimensions also fall exactly within the framework of the Japanese ‘kei guidelines’. Suzuki describes the eWX as an electric micro station wagon and there is of course something to be said for that description. A traditional one wagon however, it is not. If you are still looking for words to describe the mischievous EV, Suzuki will help. According to the brand, the eWX is ‘fun and practical’ and has ‘the look of a friend’. We couldn’t have described it better ourselves. Suzuki is still keeping detailed specifications of the powertrain under wraps, although it does say that the eWX should be able to travel up to 230 kilometers on a charge.
Would you like to look at your dog while on the road? It is possible in the Suzuki eWX.
The interior of the eWX Concept fits in seamlessly with the friendly character of the car. We see a colorful workplace with fabrics, a place to clip a photo of your partner, grandmother, child or pet and a plus-shaped hook to hang your keys on. In the dashboard there is a wide and fairly low screen that serves as instruments and as an infotainment screen and to the left of the steering wheel we find a battery of buttons and a small storage compartment. At the back of the front seats we see more happy pluses and minuses, where you can also use the pluses to hang something on.
Would you like to see a small electric Suzuki derived from this concept car in the Netherlands? Why or why not?
Suzuki Spacia Concept
More Suzuki
More Suzuki news at a glance: the brand is showing the electric eEvery for the first time and is also looking ahead to a new generation of the Spacia. The current Spacia has been in operation since 2017 and will therefore be replaced in the foreseeable future. The new generation completely follows the recipe of the current model. So there will also be a sportier Custom version.
