With the WLTP ax above its head, Suzuki is rapidly introducing renewed engines with mild hybrid technology. After the Swift Sport, the regular Swift now follows.
After Suzuki gave the Ignis a facelift and introduced the 1.2 Smart Hybrid powertrain, the extra spicy Swift Sport also got a slightly more economical heart by means of mild hybrid technology. The latter, however, was a 1.4 Boosterjet that is good 140 hp. That is not for nothing the Swift Sport, because the new power source for the renewed regular version of the Swift has to do with a lot less power.
Suzuki introduces the well-known 1.2 Smart Hybrid powertrain with the regular Swift, which also brings the renewed Ignis from its place. This 83 hp block ensures that the Swift has an average consumption of 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers (WLTP). Emissions drop to 111 g / km. Despite the new technology, the Swift remains a slim car weighing 840 kg.
The Swift comes with the 1.2 available in three flavors: Comfort, Select and Style. The latter can be ordered from today with a basic price of € 20,650. Following this investment, the Swift will receive LED all-round lighting, 16-inch light metal, a more luxurious multimedia system with a touch screen and Suzuki’s Safety System Pro package with a wider range of assistive technologies such as Blind Sport Monitor and Traffic Sign Recognition. The 1.2 Smart Hybrid makes the Swift available for the first time in combination with a CVT automatic transmission. The well-known Allgrip four-wheel drive will also continue to exist. Prices for the other versions will follow later.
