This is the SVI Max 3, a colossus that seems to have driven away from a Mad Max movie. Nothing could be further from the truth, as this thoroughly refurbished Land Cruiser is simply for sale in South Africa.
South African SVI Engineering has added a very heavily rebuilt Toyota Land Cruiser to its range of armored models. The SVI Max 3 seems like an ideal candidate for a role in a post-apocalyptic film, but it is really for sale, now also for the ordinary citizen.
The SVI Max 3 is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser J70, the Land Cruiser series launched in the early 1980s and still available new in South Africa. The Max 3 therefore has the same 184 hp and 430 Nm strong 4.5-liter V8 diesel of the conventional Land Cruisers under the hood. For the rest, almost everything is different. The already angular Land Cruiser body has been replaced by a box-like armored steel construction. The block box meets the B6 requirements according to SVI Engineering, which means, among other things, that bullets from an AK47, for example, cannot penetrate the interior.
SVI Max 3
SVI Engineering says it will offer various body styles, for example with single and double cab. The company gives the Max 3, among other things, a reinforced chassis and powerful brakes to handle the higher weight of the car. The starting price in South Africa is € 82,400.
