Techno-Classica classic fair canceled anyway

Car enthusiasts and classic car enthusiasts in particular were looking forward to June 24, the moment when the Techno-Classica classic car show in Essen, Germany, would open its gates. Sad news: the organization has decided to end this year’s edition.

The 32nd edition of Techno-Classica was initially scheduled to take place between March 25-29, but was postponed to June 24-28 due to concerns about further spread of the coronavirus. Unfortunately, even at the end of June Essen will not be dominated by beautiful classics or otherwise impressive models from a bygone era. Even now, the international coronamisère and the protection of both visitors and exhibitors serves as a motivation to cancel the fair. After all, because of these concerns, the German government has extended the ban on major events until the end of August.

The organization of the well-known classic fair indicates that the next edition of Techno-Classica will take place in April next year from 7 to 11 April. To ease the wait, a special series of models will be shown during the Essen Motor Show, a car show that is all about tuning, accessories and aftermarket parts, under the heading ‘Techno-Classica Essen meets Essen Motor Show 2020’. The Essen Motor Show must take place from November 28 to December 6.
