Tesla has had another good quarter and delivered more cars than expected.
Tesla delivered a total of 184,800 cars in the first quarter of 2021, the news agency reports Reuters. That’s more than the horribly specific 177,822 units forecast by analysts. In total, 180,338 Teslas were produced in January, February and March, slightly more than the 179,757 that left the production line in the last quarter of 2020.
It is great that Tesla is performing so well, because in addition to the ongoing pandemic, the automotive industry has also been plagued by a shortage of microchips in recent months. Tesla managed to get around that problem and said it did good business especially in China with the Model Y, an SUV that is still not available here. The facelifted Model S and Model X have also been ‘well received’, according to Tesla, so they are hopeful that the good trend will continue.
