Tesla installs first supercharger in Groningen

Tesla today opened a new supercharger for use in Zuidbroek in Groningen. It is the first supercharger in the province of Groningen and Tesla says it has its own charging point in every Dutch province.

There is a V3 supercharger in Zuidbroek, which means that it can charge up to a capacity of 250 kW. According to Tesla, this means, in the best case, that a Model 3 Long Range can charge up to 120 km in 5 minutes. Zuidbroek is located at a strategic point, namely near the junction between the A7 and the N33. The supercharger is not yet displayed on Tesla’s website, but it appears that it is located near the Van der Valk Hotel in Zuidbroek. After all, that is close to the highway and Tesla already indicates that it has a charging point.

Tesla is working hard with its superchargers. At the beginning of this month, the brand reported that more than 20,000 superchargers have been built worldwide, of which 29 were in the Netherlands at the time. With the opening of the location in Zuidbroek, that number is therefore 30 and, according to Tesla, every province now has a location for supercharging. Most superchargers in the Netherlands are still of the V2 type, which can supply power with a maximum charging speed of 150 kW. Last July Tesla opened the first V3 supercharger in Rijswijk and now the location in Groningen will be added.
