Tesla Hearse 3

Tesla supplies the Model 3 in only one body style. Yet the chance is increasing that you will see a Tesla Model 3 on the road in the Netherlands that is not a sedan. There are now a large number of Tesla Model 3s converted into hearses driving around in the Netherlands.

At the end of last year we first wrote about the Tesla Hearse 3, a hearse based on the Tesla Model 3. The Hearse 3 was developed by Derks Uitvaartmobiliteit and 25 copies have now been built. By the way, the very first prototype of the Hearse 3 rolled off the production line in April 2022. The first Tesla Hearse 3 has been driving around the Netherlands for a year now and, according to Derks Uitvaartmobiliteit, has now sold more than half a tonne.

The Tesla Hearse 3 has a large tailgate, but also small rear doors without a window that hide a luggage compartment. Naturally, the Model 3, which has been converted into a hearse, has a large space where the deceased spends his or her last kilometers. The Hearse 3 is based on the Model 3 with rear-wheel drive or the Model 3 Long Range with all-wheel drive. The structure consists of a lightweight composite. The Hearse 3 has, among other things, an extendable ‘coffin floor’, electrically operated curtains and LED lighting in the coffin space. A starry sky, extendable flower racks and removable mourning flags are also present.

Derks Uitvaartmobiliteit does not only have Teslas in its range. It also supplies the Indus Innové, a hearse based on the Nissan Leaf and various Mercedes converted into hearses.
