The configurator confirms it: the Tesla’s Model S and Model X are now even faster than before. In its fastest form, the Model S should even be able to stay ahead of a Bugatti Veyron on the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h.
With a 0-100 time of 2.7 counts, the Model S Performance, formerly P100D, was ridiculously fast. Apparently it can always go faster, because now there is an almost incredible 2.5 seconds in the “design studio” of Tesla’s great liftback. This makes the car faster than a Bugatti Veyron, which in its first form took 2.7 seconds for this sprint. Even the current Chiron is hardly faster, with a specified 0-100 time of 2.4 count.
The larger and heavier Model X gets the job done in 2.8 seconds, so now we officially have a seven-seater SUV with gull-wing doors on the price list that shoots from 0 to 100 in less than 3 seconds. These are special times, but not only because of the corona virus.
The sprint time is also said to be shortened for existing copies of the largest Teslas, although it must be fresh copies. The acceleration boost comes with an update for the Launch Control, which pushes the car’s nose to the street prior to the bizarre sprint stunt and just pushes the butt in the air, the so-called “Cheetah Stance.”
