Tesla is not only giving the Model S a facelift, the winged SUV brother Model X is also being thoroughly revised. The changes Tesla makes on it are completely in line with those of the refreshed Model S.
It should come as no surprise that the Model X benefits from almost the same changes as the renewed Tesla Model S. This means, among other things, that the Model X now also has to do with less chrome finish and that different bumpers will be placed at both the front and rear. . Here too we find a new dashboard, complete with a futuristic-looking steering wheel that is equipped with touch-sensitive buttons with which Tesla obscures the stems on the steering column. The fact that the 17-inch vertically placed display has been replaced by a horizontal one with an improved resolution should no longer be a surprise. The driving modes P, R, N and D can be selected manually near the inductive charger, which now offers space for two devices.
Tesla Model X
As in the Tesla Model S, the rear seat passengers in the facelifted Model X benefit from a new rear seat, complete with a center armrest with storage space. On the back of the center armrest, which is located between the front seats, is now, just like in the Model S, an 8-inch display that belongs to the infotainment system. According to Tesla, you can game on it with a wireless controller. The game computer, as Tesla calls the hardware, it has 10 teraflops of computing power. The Model X gets standard tri-zone temperature control, ventilated front seats and HEPA air filtration, among other things. An audio system with 22 speakers is also available.
Versions and prices
The delivery range is slightly different than before. The Long Range variant remains. This € 99,990 Dual Motor variant has an estimated driving range of 580 kilometers, a top speed of 250 km / h and sprint to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. Please note, these are not final figures yet. The Performance variant has been replaced by the Plaid, a 1,020 hp version thanks to three electric motors, which helps the Model X to reach 100 km / h in 2.6 seconds. The electric range is estimated at 547 kilometers. The top speed is 262 km / h. The Model X does not yet have a Plaid + variant like the new Model S has.
Here too, the final European specifications will be released later. Then more will be known about the revised battery technology that the Americans are reporting. Tesla speaks of a new thermal architecture. The battery pack must be rechargeable faster, among other things.
