Tesla opened 450 fast chargers in Europe last quarter

Tesla expanded the number of fast chargers in Europe by 450 in the past quarter, Tesla reported in an overview published Tuesday.

The 450 newly installed fast chargers, which Tesla calls ‘superchargers’, are spread over 55 locations in sixteen European countries. Also in the Netherlands, no superchargers were added in the past three months. The newest fast charging locations in the Netherlands are located in Sassenheim and Tilburg, where a total of 23 V3 chargers were opened last quarter. Tesla fast chargers will soon be available at seven other locations in the Netherlands. The supercharger station in Ridderkerk is expected to open this year. New fast chargers at Schiedam, Amsterdam and Haarlem are planned for the first quarter of next year.

Germany received the most fast chargers with 111 units in the past quarter, followed by France with 76 new charging points. Much has also been built in the United Kingdom and Sweden. There, respectively, 50 and 52 new fast chargers appeared. Almost without exception, the new superchargers are of the V3 type, which can be charged with a maximum of 250 kW of charging power. Tesla has now installed more than 6,500 of its own charging points in Europe.
