Tesla opens 10,000th Supercharger in Europe

Tesla has more than 10,000 Superchargers in use in Europe. This milestone, for once in the form of a white/red fast charger, was achieved thanks to rapid growth.

In the past few days, Tesla opened a total of 6 new locations with as many as 100 new Tesla Superchargers. This reached the limit of 10,000 Tesla Superchargers in Europe and the brand also made a major contribution to the growth of the number of European Superchargers in 2022. That growth is already faster this year than in any other year. According to Tesla, one fifth of all Supercharger charging stations in Europe will be completed by 2022.

The first European Supercharger appeared in the summer of 2013, in Norway. A little later, in December 2013, it was the turn of the Dutch towns of Oosterhout and Zevenaar. With 10,000 chargers spread over 900 locations, the Supercharger network is currently the largest fast charging network in Europe. By the way, not only Tesla drivers benefit from this, because more and more locations have recently been opened up for EVs from other brands. The biggest competitor to the Supercharger network, Ionity, currently has less than 2,000. That company is currently aiming for 7,000 chargers, but in 2025.
