Second most economical without electrification

In the top ten The most economical petrol cars without a plug (based on the manufacturer’s specification) also include a few cars that have to do without mild-hybrid technology. The Hyundai i10 1.0i is in 8th place, only the Toyota Aygo X 1.0 VVT-i is even more economical, numbers one to seven are either hybrid or have a mild-hybrid powertrain. However, what is the practical consumption of the Hyundai i10?
The fact that we are going from number 6 to number 8 is due to the absence of the Toyota Aygo X in the Consumption Monitor. Only one Aygo X driver keeps track of his consumption in the handy tool on this site, but his data is ‘hidden’ so that it is only of use to him. And the Aygo X only came on the market this year, so there may still be Aygo X drivers who will switch to tracking consumption in the monitor. Incidentally, the AutoWeek endurance test Aygo X 1.0 VVT-i is now after almost six months at a neat 1 to 19.1 in practice. The factory specification is 1 to 20.
Fortunately, the Consumption Monitor lives a lot better among the Hyundai i10 drivers. Five drivers keep track of their refuelling. For the 1.0i of the current generation, this results in a practical consumption of an average of 4.99 liters per 100 kilometers. That’s 1 in 20 exactly. A good result because the factory specification is 1 to 20.8.
Hyundai gives a slightly higher consumption for the 5-seat version of the i10 1.0i. According to WLTP specification, this comes 20.0 kilometers away on a litre.
