The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Darkroom

The fine photo editing app Darkroom in version 4.1 makes it easier to import photos and edit them. Now if you see a photo in the Photos app that you want to edit, you can immediately continue editing in Darkroom using the share feature. On the iPad, the app now supports ‘drag and drop’, so you can quickly import photos from another app by dragging.

If you come across photos in, for example, Documents or Dropbox, you can copy them directly to Darkroom from now on. Finally, Darkroom has made some improvements for easier sorting of edited images.

2. Assignments

Apple’s own Assignments app has a row of new and expanded shortcuts that you can set. The app now allows you to create even more Siri Shortcuts. For example, support for the Notes app has been added. Now you can add tasks like Create Note, Add to Note, Search Notes, and Show Note to an assignment.

In addition, the ‘Get travel time’ task now provides more details. Then you immediately know the name of the route, the arrival time and the distance. And now tapping the Library tab will automatically scroll to the bottom of your command list. This way you don’t have to scroll to get to a shortcut.
