The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the last seven days. The editors of iPhoned has rounded up the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.
Last week’s 4 best iOS apps
The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing programs and games are added all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separate the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are this week’s best iOS apps, updates, and games.
1. Photoshop Camera
Adobe added a new app to its range this week: Photoshop Camera. The app has several filters that completely change your face and the world around you. For example, a filter can turn a sunny sky into a magical starry sky. Another filter gives you a cartoonish look, while another makes it look like your photo is painted.
Although the app is called Photoshop Camera, it has little to do with Photoshop. You can slightly edit your photo with some simple tools, but the app mainly focuses on the filters. Tap the magic wand to enhance a photo at the touch of a button. Choose a filter and share it with your friends or on social media.
2. Small town murders
Attention Cluedo fans: in Small Town Murders you try to find out who the perpetrator is of a gruesome murder. The puzzle game takes place in a small town called Thornton Grove. A widow has been found dead in her home. Writer Nora Mistry takes it upon herself to investigate the murder.
During her search, Nora gets help from the local police and the neighborhood gossip, Mrs. Musgrove. By solving different puzzles you will find more and more evidence. Based on your finds, you interrogate the suspects until the killer is unmasked.
3. Words for a bird
Words for a bird is a short game, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. In the 15 levels you have to figure out what a new word in a sentence is going to be. If you do it right, the app will tell you a story. You will see a tree with a small bird in it. The leaves on the tree are letters that fit into the word, but not all letters need to be in the word.

In the white box in the middle are also some letters, which form a hint. Are you really not sure? Then you can tap the light in the top right to get some extra help. In the free version of the app you will first see an advertisement. If you don’t want that, the app is ad-free for a few euros.
4. Bit Dungeon III
If you like 2D games, Bit Dungeon III is worth a try. This simple dungeon game full of action and adventure will keep you busy for many hours. It’s also harder than you think: when you die, you only get one chance to get your soul back. Otherwise you have to start all over again.
Different types of weapons also allow you to make different, unique attacks. You can play the game together with your friends via online play. You can choose to play as a team, or to play against each other by thwarting the other.
