The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! In our opinion, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 27 here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. You don’t notice that much, however, because only a fraction of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. iPhoned

Since this week, the first update for the iPhone app can be downloaded! The app has a new icon that matches the content a lot better. The update is also a great time to add a feature of iOS 10.3.3. Depending on the day or night mode, the icon is given a white or black background. You do this by opening the app’s menu, going to Settings and selecting Day or Night under ‘Day and night mode’. Furthermore, bugs and other errors have been solved.

2. Snapchat

The latest Snapchat update is the biggest in a long time. Starting with Paperclips, a way to add a website to your Snap. After creating your Snap, tap the paperclip icon and enter a URL. In addition, the background function looks more spectacular. You choose a background in the same way as a filter, but then draw over the parts of your snapshot that belong in the foreground. Finally, voice filters have been added to Snapchat.

3. Ridge Racer Slipstream

A new App of the Week has been placed in the App Store. Ridge Racer Slipstream is a cool racing game in which you race over all kinds of circuits and try to build your career. The game is not very realistic, but more an arcade racer in which you fly through the level as quickly as possible. The cool thing is that there is also a multiplayer mode, so you can compete against other players all over the world. By the way, make sure your iOS device has enough storage space, because the game weighs 1.67GB.

4. NPO

The Dutch Public Broadcasting has renewed its app considerably. The most important thing is the arrival of NPO Start, for which registration is mandatory. Start comes in a free version and a paid version, Start Plus. It costs EUR 2.95 per month and offers additional functions. An important feature is that you can watch programs in HD quality. That’s nice, because the NPO app previously used a much lower resolution, so images on the iPhone and iPad looked rather grainy.
