The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 46 here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Cloudflare 1.1.1.1

Cloudflare has converted its dns service into the app 1.1.1.1. With the app, the administrator of a (WiFi) network cannot see which websites you visit from your iPhone or iPad. This way you have a lot more privacy while surfing the internet.

Moreover, the Cloudflare server is a lot faster, so you surf the web much smoother. When 1.1.1.1 is enabled, everything is sent securely via Cloudflare’s own, free server. You can turn the service on or off simply by swiping the switch.

2. Spotify Music

It’s finally there: Spotify for your Apple Watch. In the latest update of the music service, an app has finally been added for Apple’s smartwatch. Spotify does emphasize that it is a first version of the watchOS app, and that there is still a lot to improve.

For example, you cannot stream songs directly to the Watch, saving music offline is impossible and browsing through your library is not available. The app is currently mainly an audio player where you can also give songs a heart. There is also a list of your recently played songs and playlists available. Finally, there is a Shuffle button.

3. Pocket Casts

Podcast app Pocket Casts has received a major update in which it has added support for Siri Shortcuts, among other things. As a result, you can now also process your favorite podcasts in a voice command for Siri.

In addition, significant improvements have been made so that a more human and smarter algorithm gives you personal suggestions for podcasts to discover. From now on you can also play podcasts without subscribing and it is easier to search for individual episodes within podcast series.

4. ABN AMRO Mobile Banking

ABN AMRO customers are increasingly able to leave their e.dentifier in the drawer. The banking app now supports iDEAL payments. The bank is slowly making the e.dentifier, the verification device for logging in and paying with, redundant for banking via your telephone.

When you pay for something online on a desktop with iDEAL, from now on you open the ABN AMRO app on your iPhone or iPad and select the qr code scanner in the start screen. This has been added for the new function.

You then scan the QR code on the screen with your device and you can complete the payment in the app. Extra handy is that you do not have to log in to the app first to complete your payment.
