The 6 best iOS apps in the App Store from week 29 – 2017

The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 29 here.

The best iOS apps at a glance

The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. You won’t notice this much though, because only a small portion of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.

1. Snapchat

It’s finally possible to record longer videos in Snapchat, but with a twist. You can press and hold the record button for 60 seconds to record. Then the video is divided into short clips of ten seconds. These clips can be published and viewed as a series.

After recording you will be given the option to omit a clip or to publish the entire long video. Nice is that Snapchat has also introduced a new tool to edit in an even more creative way. To do this, press the scissors and then the brush.

2. The Holiday Doctor app

There are few things more annoying than getting sick on vacation, but if it does happen, it is nice that you have a reliable app on your iPhone. The Holiday Doctor app is made by the Zilveren Kruis and is full of useful tips. This way you can directly contact an employee to ask questions.

Also handy: if you install this app before you go on holiday, you will receive information about health risks and possible vaccinations. Even if you are not a member of the Zilveren Kruis, you can simply download and use the app for free.

3. Google Trips

Google Trips is Google’s vacation app. If you use services like Gmail and Google Maps and have a Google account, this is the ultimate vacation app for you. Based on your e-mails and locations, Google Trips compiles a profile about your holiday destination on its own.

For example, the app saves your tickets from the plane, the location of the hotel and the app gives suggestions for fun events and places to go. An absolute must.

4. Yankai’s Triangle

Apple’s free App of the Week this week is the excellent Yankai’s Triangle. This game already had a nice place in our monthly list of favorite new iOS games of that month last November. The game is divided into playing fields full of triangles. By tapping on a triangle, it rotates.

The goal is to rotate the different triangles on the screen until they form one large triangle. For this you look at the pattern on the shapes, because corners of the same color will stick together. Admittedly, the whole concept of turning triangles isn’t crazy exciting, but it works well and you lose any concept of time before you know it.

5. KNVB Orange

With the official KNVB Oranje app you can stay up to date with all the news about the Dutch national team and the Dutch women’s team. The app provides overviews of the latest official news, video of matches and interviews and live information about match standings and photos.

With optional push notifications, you don’t have to keep the app open if you want to follow a match. In addition, the app provides insight into all kinds of statistics of our teams and the players who play for them. In the latest update, stadium data has been added, so you can be prepared when you go to a match.

6. Apple Clips

Apple’s video editing app Clips has received its first update. With Clips, Apple wants to make it as easy as possible to edit a photo or video. With a few presses on your screen, you can turn a simple selfie into a photo with emoji, filters and animated stickers. The update will particularly appeal to fans of these stickers. From now on, there are many famous Disney and Pixar characters processed in the app. From Mickey to Woody and from Toy Story to Inside Out; Apple’s partnership with Disney is better than ever.

In addition to the Disney and Pixar images, Apple has added dozens of new texts, posters and filters. Apple has already committed to extending Clips regularly with these types of updates. That should keep the app fun to use. Keep in mind that you will need to download all stickers individually when using them for the first time.
