The least expensive
If there is anything that was difficult to succeed in 2022, it is cheap fuel. Even with high fuel prices, however, there is always one petrol station that is the cheapest, and that appears to be in Kapellebrug in Zeeland.
MultiTankcard declares Gas station Gebroeders Mangnus in Kapellebrug as the cheapest gas station of 2022 in the category ‘Euro 95/E10’. With an average liter price of €1.9535, measured over the entire year, petrol drivers were the cheapest here, according to the fuel card supplier. Diesel drivers were best able to refuel in Tiel in 2022, where the Tango asked for an average of €1.8196 for a litre. Those who do not want to expose their petrol enthusiast car to the whims of E10 should be in Hoofddorp this year. The Total in our former home base (Graan voor Visch) turned out to charge an average of €2.1746 for a liter of E5.
The specific winners of this study also point to a larger trend. Multitankcard notes that regular diesel and petrol are generally cheaper in rural regions, but that E5 petrol is relatively often cheaper in North and South Holland.
For the study, Multitankcard looked at filling stations that were operational throughout the year and processed more than 500 petrol or diesel transactions per year via the Multitankcard platform. For E5 a lower limit of 100 transactions was used.
In 2022, fuel prices peaked several times at record highs, up to €2.38 per liter for petrol and €2.28 for diesel, Multitankcard reports. People don’t venture to make predictions about the further course of those prices: “That’s looking at coffee grounds”.
