The Hague bans advertising for cars with combustion engines

Cars with combustion engines are slowly but surely falling into the corner. In The Hague you will soon no longer see advertisements for new cars in bus shelters and tram stops.

In May this year it was announced that the municipality of Amsterdam is putting a stop to advertising in metro stations promoting products that use fossil fuels. No more car advertisements and no more advertisements for cheap flights in the Amsterdam metro. The municipality of The Hague is now following that example, Omroep West reports.

The Hague city council has approved a motion by the Party for the Animals to ban commercials for air travel and cars with combustion engines from bus and tram shelters. The operator of the bus and tram booths in the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area (MRDH) is working on a new tender procedure for the next five years and therefore has to take the adopted motion into account. Soon you will therefore not find any advertisements for cars with combustion engines in The Hague, but also not for air travel and, for example, gas stations.
