The most popular electric cars of October

The Kia Picanto was the car with the most new units registered in October. With this, the little Korean knocked the Tesla Model Y off the monthly changing registration throne. In this article we look at which new electric cars were registered with the most units in October. A hint: it’s not the Tesla Model Y!

The Tesla Model Y has been dominating the Dutch registration lists for a while. It is almost newsworthy that the Tesla Model Y was not the electric car with the most units registered in the Netherlands in October. This year, the Tesla Model Y was not the EV that registered the most copies in April and July, but October has now been added. In April, the Model Y had to tolerate the Peugeot e-208 and the Volvo XC40, and in July the Skoda Enyaq iV. In September, the Tesla Model Y finished in second place in the EV rankings. This and more is evident from figures that AutoWeek requested from Bovag.

With 705 new units registered in October, the Volvo The Model Y follows with 647 units. Remarkable: in September the Tesla registered 1,788 new units and in August the car was also well above 1,000 units. The ever-popular Kia Niro EV follows at some distance. With 422 registered units, the electric Niro is in third place in October.

In fourth place is the Tesla Model 3, of which only 7 fewer units were registered in October than the Kia Niro EV. The Peugeot e-208 follows with the same minimal difference in fourth place with 402 registrations.
