The most sold lease cars

Every month, the Association of Business Drivers (VZR) releases a new edition of the ten best-selling lease cars in the form of the VZR Lease Top 10. Of the three different Top 10 editions, a different price range is what sets them apart. This month it is the turn of lease cars with a starting price of at least € 40,000. See below the most sold business cars of the past six months.

Today, this price category with an entry-level price of € 40,000 is not only dominated by the three well-known German car brands Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Although they take up no less than six out of ten places, another German brand has secured a good position in the Lease Top 10. With 573 business registrations in the past six months, the Volkswagen Passat takes 7th place.

This lease top 10 also includes the Swedish Volvo with the V60 in the top 3 and with the Volvo XC60 in place 8. Both models are available as a plug-in hybrid. This technique ensures attractive performance, low consumption, but also low maintenance costs. For both Volvo, but also for other car brands, this technology provides additional sales in the business market.

Electric breaks through with one model

Speaking of really low costs, you are soon talking about electric cars. Electric cars have much less maintenance-sensitive parts, which makes them attractive for an employer or fleet owner.

The driver of an electric car is also not badly off. A fully electric car has a lower addition than a petrol or diesel car. Last year, the Tesla Model 3 was the most popular electric car. We are curious if we can welcome more electric cars in the top 10 in the coming six months.

Netherlands station wagon country

The station wagon is a popular body style in the Netherlands. A lot of space in a nice package is something that appeals to the Dutch. Something that is certainly evident from Volvo’s sales statistics.

Volvo supplies the 60 series as S60 and V60, with the V variant clearly preferred. So much so that the V60 single-handedly claims place 3 with 1,081 business registrations. An additional 263 of the S60 were registered in the Netherlands in the past six months. These numbers together would not result in a number two position that is now claimed by the BMW 3 Series. Nevertheless, it does not detract from the decent performance of the Volvo V60.

Next month the VZR Lease Top 10 with the most popular business cars up to € 20,000. You can find all Lease Top 10s here.
