Rich Japanese traditions as a basis

If Mazda comes with a completely new model, it has been well thought out in advance. This also applies to the Mazda CX-60 Plug-in Hybrid that will be in the showroom from Saturday 3 September. But the Japanese brand goes one step further. Discover the refined background of the all-new Mazda CX-60 Plug-in Hybrid.
The most idiosyncratic car brand from the Land of the Rising Sun uses age-old Japanese traditions to come up with a design that fits in very well with this time. One of the Japanese philosophies is Ma, the beauty and tension found in empty spaces containing only a few elements. In car design, this means resisting the temptation to ‘overload’ a design. So restraint in both exterior and interior of the completely new Mazda CX-60 Plug-in Hybrid. That doesn’t mean the occupants are lacking anything; on the contrary, it provides more experience of the elements that are there, and at the same time provides peace of mind thanks to its simplicity.

The top version is the Takumi, with maple wood on the center console and striking ‘Musubu’ stitching on the dashboard.
Versatility trumps
In addition to a sophisticated design, the all-new Mazda CX-60 Plug-in Hybrid offers excellent engineering that makes the SUV very versatile. Combining a 2.5-litre SkyActiv-G petrol engine with a powerful electric motor, the CX-60 is the most powerful in its class with over 300 hp. In addition, the new Mazda offers a towing weight of 2,500 kg. Fully electric you will also be well prepared with a range of 63 kilometers in that mode.
The driving experience is also good, as usual at Mazda. Rear-wheel drive provides good balance and a nice steering feel, and on top of that comes the excellent driving position where car and driver are one, described by Mazda as Jinba Ittai. The CX-60 is standard a four-wheel drive, but only if necessary, the front wheels are automatically added. There are two versions: the sporty Homura, or the Takumi, the most luxurious version.
Japanese craftsmanship
Back to the origins of Japanese craftsmanship from which this CX-60 originated. Another philosophy, which connects to Ma, is called Kaicho. The starting point is the management and upgrading of spaces and elements by harmoniously connecting their materials and textures. That philosophy has even been implemented in the lighting of the CX-60 Plug-in Hybrid, which makes it appear subtle and soft.
The mix of traditional, thoughtful design, a powerful technical package and the familiar driving experience make the CX-60 a promising new SUV. And it is also economical thanks to modern plug-in hybrid technology.
