The popularity of campers in the Netherlands seems unstoppable

Netherlands Caravanland? Certainly, but nowadays you can also call our currently chilly Kikkerland a real Camperland. The number of campers in the Netherlands continues to increase.

In September 2022, there were still 176,000 campers registered in the Netherlands. Eleven months later – at the end of August this year – there were 187,466. During this period, the number of campers registered in our country increased by almost 11,500, an increase of 6.3 percent. This is evident from figures published by the Dutch Camper Car Club (NKC).

During the corona period, the demand for campers in the Netherlands increased significantly, but interest in campers does not seem to have cooled down afterwards. Earlier this year it became clear that it is not only retirees whose hearts beat faster because of campers, as seems to be the prejudice. Between January 1 and September 1 this year, camper ownership among residents in the Netherlands in the age category up to and including 25 years increased by no less than 105 percent. In the age category 26 to 35 years, camper ownership increased by 70 percent. The Camping and Caravan Industry (KCI) calculated this in October.

Did you also buy a camper this year? Or do you absolutely not see yourself touring Europe with a camper? Let us know in the comments.
