What are the watch trends for the spring and summer of 2025? Full of inspiration we returned from the large Watch Fair Inhorenta in Munich where we saw a return to classic watches, with the emphasis on brand-heritage, cheerful summer colors, ‘petite’ ladies watches, and much more.
Trends in men’s watches
‘Heritage’ watches and vending machines
The vintage retro trend of the past seasons is not over yet, and this spring mainly has the form of a return to the brands’s own history. The ‘brand heritage’ is fully celebrated with re-issues and reinterpretations. Automatic watches and classic handwinders in particular grow in popularity.
More (Swiss) Solar Watches and Attention to Reuse
Where Solar timepieces were previously mainly made by Japanese manufacturers, the Swiss brands are now tacked. Take for example the special new Tissot PRC100 where the solar cells are not – as usual – incorporated into the dial, but in the glass!
Solar timepieces are a lot more durable than Quartz and also in the field of use of materials there is increasing attention for sustainability. More and more use is made of recycled steel and plastic made from organic materials.
Field Watches and Outdoor Watches
It is speculation on our part, but could it be that due to the renewed attention to the army and NATO there is also more interest in military watches and outdoor watches? The classic field-watch in particular makes a real comeback. In addition, modern outdoor watches with high water resistance and extensive functions are also particularly sought after.
Octagonal models
If a child draws a clock, it is usually around like most watches. Yet watches with a different shape than round, such as Turtle watches and rectangular watches, are very popular nowadays. This season we mainly see many watches with an octagonal cupboard in the new collections.
Ladies watch Trends
Soft colors and the return of gold
It is spring, and we see that as usual in the color palette of the women’s watch collections. Many soft colors; Light blue, soft green, sand tones and pink are always popular at this time of the year.
What is also striking is that after the great popularity of rosé gold, we now see much more gold and bicolor gold-silver watches.
Square watches and wrapping tires
The last seasons we have already seen a movement towards more rectangular watches and this season the square watches are being added. However, the corners are rounded off, giving the shape a more feminine appearance.
Moreover, these watches often have a metal (!) Wrap band. No surprise, since this season we see more and more watches with a metal strap instead of a leather strap.
(Extremely) small watches
Another trend that continues to continue: the size of watches becomes smaller. For women’s watches, that sometimes means extremely small, up to 13 mm!
