Themes for Edge

Since Microsoft Edge runs on the Chromium web engine, it is possible to use extensions, features and even themes from Chrome. So there are more options to personalize your version of Microsoft Edge.

Add-on store

Make sure you have the most recent version of Microsoft Edge. Microsoft’s official add-on store already contains 24 themes that thoroughly change the look of Edge, and we’ll show you another important resource in a moment. Moreover, we are sure that many more themes will follow in the future. Such a theme does not increase the functionality of the browser, but it is fun and many people like to give a personal touch to their PC. The themes can be found in the Microsoft Edge Add-on store. There you will see the section on the left Themes.

You will find 24 themes in the Microsoft add-on store.

Install and uninstall

When you have found a nice theme, click the button To download to add it to the web browser. Microsoft Edge will ask for confirmation and a few seconds later you will receive a message that the theme has been installed. The message also contains a button to undo the installation. For example, if you now open a new tab, you will see that the theme is active, without having to restart the browser. If you are tired of a theme, you can easily remove it. Go to the via the three dots in the top right corner Institutions. Select the category on the left Appearance and then click the button remove next to the text Custom theme.

Confirm your choice.

Chrome Themes

Because Edge is powered by the Chromium project, you’re not limited to what’s on offer in the Edge add-on store. You can also load themes from the Google Chrome Web Store. You do need to log in with a Google account. Open via www.tiny.cc/chroext, and here you go to Themes. Here the offer is even wider. You can search the library by rating or by subject. Then click on the theme and you will see the button Add to Chrome. Don’t worry, the theme will install just like a purebred Edge theme.
