In the eternal battle to differentiate itself from Instagram, Snapchat is today introducing three new filters. Get started with Paperclips, Wallpapers and Snapchat voice filters.
1. Paper clips
The Snapchat update waiting for you today in the App Store is the biggest in a long time. Starting with Paperclips, a way to add a website to your Snap. After creating your Snap, tap the paperclip icon and enter a URL. Then the people viewing your creation can swipe up to view the linked website.
2. Backgrounds
The new background function looks a lot more spectacular. You choose a background in the same way as a filter, but then draw over the parts of your snapshot that belong in the foreground. For example, you can highlight all the people in the photo, while your chosen background is visible on the rest. You come across this new feature by tapping the scissors.
3. Snapchat voice filters
Finally, the new Snapchat voice filters complete the update. As the name suggests, it allows you to distort the sound of a video with various effects. You open the voice filters by first recording a video and then tapping the speaker in the lower left corner. Here you can choose from a robot, alien, hamster and bear. Undoubtedly, this offer will be further expanded in the future.
The update rolls out the new geofilters in addition to the usual bug fixes. You can now create this in the app based on your location. Last week, Snapchat introduced the Snapmap, a map that shows the locations of all your friends. This also raised the necessary privacy questions, although you can turn this function off manually.
