These are the best activity trackers

Fitness trackers are smaller than smartwatches and therefore more suitable for small wrists. In addition, they are also often lower priced. But which one should you have? We list some of the best activity trackers of the moment for you.

Usually a charged battery of a tracker lasts about five days, but this of course depends on your use. The bracelets are especially suitable for measuring activities and performance. In addition, some bands offer the option of making contactless payments in shops, controlling your music and displaying smartphone notifications, for example.

Do you want to know whether such a gadget is really something for you? Earlier we discussed the usefulness of wearables such as smartwatches and fitness bands.

Fitbit Charge 5

The Fitbit Charge 5 is a lot bigger than its predecessors and also has an OLED screen. The advantage of this is that you now also have always-on functionality: you no longer have to move your wrist to see the clock.

Accessibility is the great strength of Fitbit and you can see that in the Fitbit app. Sleep measurement, activities, combustion: you get a good idea of your activities and what you can do to become healthier.

The disadvantage is that Fitbit bets a lot on the Fitbit Premium payment service of a tenner per month. You also pay a hefty amount for the sports band itself, so it is extra wry when basic functions disappear behind a paywall.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6

Where you pay about 170 euros for the latest generation of Fitbit, with a Xiaomi Mi Band 6 you are ready for a fourth of that price. Although Xiaomi started using colorful OLED screens much earlier than Fitbit, the Mi Band still feels a bit like a Fitbit Charge light. And to be honest there is nothing wrong with that.

Keep in mind that the sensors are slightly less accurate and the app a lot less user-friendly. So you score a kind of health points, but how do they relate to your real health and performance? Joost should know.

Garmin Vivosmart 4

The Garmin Vívosmart 4 is already an old beast, so if you are interested in this wearable, it pays to compare the price. It is a pity that Garmin does not yet have a successor to this bracelet, because the brand only offers large sports watches.

The Vívosmart 4 offers accurate measurements and an app that displays all data in detail, exactly as you would expect from Garmin. Unfortunately, a GPS function is missing. Hopefully Garmin decides to release a fifth generation that rectifies this.
