Everyone gets unwanted calls from time to time, and we’re not just talking about call centers but also criminals pretending to be someone else. You can block these numbers on your mobile, but also with an app.
Preventing unwanted phone calls
As of 1 July 2021, the do not call register in the Dutch Telecommunications Act has been replaced by an opt-in system. Companies and charities are now only allowed to call you to sell something or to ask for a donation, if you have given permission to do so. It is therefore no longer necessary to have your telephone number blocked due to telephone sales.
Yet there are telemarketers who still call you unsolicited during a football game. You can then block that number in this way, so that you are no longer bothered by it. Unfortunately, there are also other unwanted phone calls that regularly disturb people. They come from criminals who want to steal your personal information or money.
